I love my Korean lilacs which bloom a little later than the traditional lilacs. They are planted very close to our patio so when they are in bloom (this year in June!) it is so lovely to sit outside in the evening and smell the lovely fragrance as it intensifies and drifts by.

My earliest memory (about age 3 by my calculations, based on where we lived) is sitting on my trike on the front sidewalk between two lilac bushes, in springtime, in Edmonton.
